Obituary for David F. Byrnes Jr.
David F. Byrnes Jr. – Age 69, beloved husband of Linda J. (Lavery) Byrnes died Saturday at their home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Malden, October 21, 1946, a son of the late David F. and Jeanette (Janulewicz) Byrnes and lived in Billerica for over 60 years before moving to Lunenburg 15 months ago.
Mr. Byrnes was employed as a Billerica Police Officer for 32 years having retired as a Sergeant in 2001. He was awarded Patrolman of Year in 1981.
Besides his wife, Mr. Byrnes is survived by his son, Robert “Bobbo” Byrnes and his wife Tracy of Huntington Beach, CA; his brothers, Stephen Byrnes of NC, James Byrnes of Billerica and Martin Byrnes of Germany; his sisters, Catherine Boisvert of TN and Nancy Higgins of Billerica and many nieces and nephews.
BYRNES – Of Lunenburg, formerly of Billerica, Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Nashoba Nursing Service and Hospice, Two Shaker Rd., Shirley, MA 01464 or to your area food bank.
