Obituary for Robert R. DeRosier Sr.
Robert R. DeRosier Sr. – Age 94, husband of the late Patricia Y. (Conrad) DeRosier to whom he was married to for 65 years, died unexpectedly Tuesday at his home. He was born in Springfield, June 11, 1920, the son of the late Alphonse and Aurore (Meunier) DeRosier and lived in Somerville before moving to Billerica 67 years ago. Mr. DeRosier served in the US Army 34th Division (Red Bull) during WW II and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was severely wounded on Mount Fana in Italy by a land mine. He was employed as the Postmaster in Billerica for 28 years having worked at the Billerica center office. He was an active communicant of St. Theresa Church and volunteered at both the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley and Brightview Assisted Living. Mr. DeRosier is survived by his loving sons, Stephen DeRosier and his wife Doreen and Dana DeRosier and his wife Linda of Billerica and Douglas DeRosier of Marlboro; his devoted grandchildren, Rob, Jeff, Brian, Heath, Wade, Justin, Matthew, Ryan, Michelle and Kristina DeRosier and is also survived 10 great grandchildren. Mr. DeRosier was the father of the late Robert R. DeRosier Jr. and brother of the late Georgiana (DeRosier) Martel. DeRosier – Of Billerica, Oct. 21, Robert R. DeRosier Sr., Funeral Monday from the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa Church, One Grace Ave., Billerica, MA 01821. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
