Mary A. Walukiewicz – age 83, wife of the late Stanley Richard Walukiewicz died Thursday, August 28 at the Bridges by Epoch in Nashua with her family at her side.
She was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on June 1, 1942, the daughter of the late James and Marion (Harrington) Davison and lived in Somerville for many years before moving to Billerica in 1980. She was once handed the “Key to the City” while attending Somerville High School. Mary has always been fondly known to her nieces and nephew as Auntie Mae.
Mary started her career at Sears and Roebuck in the accounting office and later worked as the Accounting Manager for the GCA Company. She ended her worked career as the Controller for Suffolk Downs prior to her retirement.
Over the years Mary always put her family first. She cherished family vacations, attending all of the children and grandchildren’s sporting events and holidays. During the early years, the extended family would get together down in Marshfield for two weeks. These were great memories. She always extended a warm welcome to all. As the years passed Mary & Rich cherished their time together. They loved to go to the casinos with her Sister Pat and Brother-in-law Bob, they had lots of trips to Vegas, Mohegan Sun and the annual trip to Atlantis.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy and her husband John Bilsky of Pelham, NH and her son, Richard and his wife Kerri Walukiewicz of Salem, NH. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John and his wife Jennifer Bilsky. Her granddaughters Alicia and her husband Jacob Piotrowski and Juliana Walukiewicz. Mary was also fortunate to have great grandchildren Emmett Piotrowski and Elizabeth Bilsky. Her face lit up when she saw the little ones come visit. She was the sister of the late James Davison and Marion “Pat” Mortensen.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 4 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Road, Billerica at 10 a.m. Her burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org
