Virginia A. (Smith) Lamothe, age 79, beloved wife of Mark R. Lamothe Sr., died Monday July 22 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.
She was born in Cambridge, January 12, 1945 a daughter of the late Gordon K. and Margaret B. (Hart) Smith and lived in Medford before moving to Billerica in 1973.
Virginia worked as a hairdresser before going to work for Market Basket as a cashier at their Billerica Center store and more recently at the Pinehurst store in Town Plaza. She will be remembered for her love of all animals as well as her love of cooking which she was great at.
Besides her husband she is revived by two sons, Michael Lamothe and his wife Renee of Tewksbury and Mark Lamothe Jr. and his wife Janet of Billerica as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late David Lamothe and Cheryl Ann Brennan and sister of the late Gordon Smith Jr.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Monday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. followed by a Graveside Service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Rd. Medford, at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
