Obituary for Aldina C. Lopes
Aldina C. Lopes, age 84, beloved wife of the late Justino Lopes died Monday at her home with her family by her side.
She was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, June 29, 1933 a daughter of the late Jacinto and Maria (deJesus) Cabral and lived in Cambridge and Somerville before moving to Billerica in1980 and then to Lowell in 1993.
Mrs. Lopes was a seamstress for several clothing manufacturers and also worked in housekeeping at Newton Hospital.
She is survived by three daughters, Madalena Lima of Lowell, Lucia Doucette of Lowell and Maria Lopes of Raymond, NH; three sons, Louis Lopes and his wife Susan of Billerica, Justin Lopes of Westminster, MD, John Lopes of Lowell as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and she also leaves her loving dog Toby. She was the mother of the late Tereza Lopes and grandmother of the late Matthew Lima.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at St. Anthony Church, 893 Central St. Lowell at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday in the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial in Lowell Cemetery.
