Gary C. Haywood, 68, of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 10, at Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of Christine M. (Coy) Haywood for many years.
Gary was born in Arlington on October 5, 1954, the son of the late Paul G. and Jeannine B. (Mailhiot) Haywood.
Mr. Haywood was employed as a truck driver for many years prior to his retirement and was most recently a driver for Deloury Trucking.
In his spare time, he enjoyed time spent at the Billerica Elks, riding his motorcycle, boating on Lake Winnipesaukee and having fun at all family events and parties, above all else, he cherished time spent with his loving family, especially the time he was able to spend with his grandson, Hunter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Gary P. Haywood and his wife Stefanie of Billerica, his step children, Scott P. McDonnell and his wife Jennifer of North Andover and Deborah Marvin and her husband Michael of Nashua, NH, his siblings, Diane Higden and her husband Wayne of Burlington, MA, Paul “Skipper” Haywood and his wife Joyce of Billerica, Denise Bellerose and her late husband Ray of Milford, MA, Robin O’Clair and her husband Walter of Merrimack, NH., Rhonda Mullane and her fiancé Harvey Gurney of Weare, NH, Jeannine “Chickie” Cumming and her husband Scott of Stow, MA, a grandson, Hunter Haywood, five step grandchildren, one step great grandchild as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Monday, May 15 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica. His graveside service will be Tuesday, May 16th at 12 Noon in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org.
