Obituary for David J. Hennessey
FITCHBURG – David J. Hennessey, age 72, died Saturday at Fitchburg Gardens Nursing and Rehab after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Lowell, March 8, 1945 a son of the late Frank J. and Frances (Sheehan) Hennessey and a lifelong resident of Billerica before moving to Lowell and then to Fitchburg.
Mr. Hennessey served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of Sergeant, worked as an assembler at BASF for many years and was a lifetime member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks as well as the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by one sister, Louise Patterson of Fitchburg; one brother Richard Hennessey of Lowell as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Joseph, Bernard “Tom” and Paul Hennessey.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with a Prayer Service and Military honors to be held at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice of Leominster, 36 William St. Leominster, MA 01453
