Obituary for Eddie Riddle Jr.
Eddie Riddle, age 67, beloved husband of 37 years to Lorraine (Woodland) Riddle died at Merrimack Valley Hospice after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Lowell, MA. April 23, 1955, son of the late Edward Riddle Sr. and Mary (Cotter) Riddle and was raised in Billerica.
Eddie was a graduate of Billerica Memorial High School. Eddie was employed by the Billerica School Department for 33 years. Prior to that he worked for several years at Compugraphic Corp.
Besides his wife Lorraine, he is survived by his daughter Lauren Marie Riddle, his sister Karen Heffernan and her husband Peter of Billerica, his sister Linda Persi and her husband Rick of California, his sister Mary Yandow and her husband Andy of Billerica, his brother Scott and his wife Kristy of Billerica and his brother-in-law John Hurley of Tewksbury. He is pre-deceased by his sister Carol Riddle Hurley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Eddie was known for his sense of humor both within the family and with his friends and co-workers. He didn’t take life to seriously, he always found the bright spots and a reason to laugh.
Eddie loved spending time with his daughter Lauren, where the objective was always to see who could laugh the longest or hardest. He loved listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s instilling that same love in Lauren.
His funeral will be held Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org Burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
