Peter C. Tamis, age 55, died peacefully Sunday at Bear Mountain at Andover with his family at his side.
He was born in Somerville, May 2, 1966, a son of Diane K. (Salenga) Tamis of Billerica and the late Peter J. Tamis and lived in Billerica his entire life.
Peter was a graduate of Billerica Memorial High School having graduated in 1984 and later attended UMass Lowell. He was employed at American Industrial Products in Cambridge and later worked as a Painter and Bartender.
Peter enjoyed being a Football Coach in Billerica and Lynnfield and a Little League Coach in Billerica and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and snowmobiling.
Besides his mother, Peter is survived by his brother, Dennis Tamis and his wife Annmarie of Billerica; his sisters, Dawn Melendy and her husband Thomas of Billerica and Tanya Zemetres and her husband Chris of Tewksbury and his nieces and nephews, Alexsay, Tiffany, Trevor, C.J., Troy and Talia.
His funeral will be held Saturday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Masks will be required at both locations. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Peter’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org . Burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
