Obituary for James F. Fitzgerald
James F. Fitzgerald, age 76, beloved husband of Virginia (Aliberti) Fitzgerald died Wednesday at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born in Cambridge, December 30, 1944, a son of the late John T. and Annelle V. (Jasinski) Fitzgerald and lived in Medford for many years before moving to Billerica 48 years ago.
Jim was employed at Raytheon having worked in Bedford, Andover and retired form Tewksbury after 49 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, James Fitzgerald Jr. and his wife Susan of Billerica; his daughters, Dawn Thurlow and her husband Paul, Kristin Riley and her husband Michael and Nicole Fitzgerald and her longtime companion, Glen McGowan all of Billerica. Papa to ten grandchildren; Ashley, Mikayla, Amber, Michael, Summer, Alie, Kylie, Molly, Gianna, and Payton. He was the brother of the late John and William Fitzgerald.
Jim’s funeral will be held Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Face masks must be worn. Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, www.michaeljfox.org Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
