Obituary for Raymond W. Lorette
Raymond W. Lorette, age 93, beloved husband of the late Winifred J. (Driscoll) Lorette died Tuesday at Genesis Westford House after a brief illness.

He was born in Surry, NH, April 28, 1927 a son of the late Felix and Bessie (O’Brien) Lorette and lived in Waltham before moving to Billerica 45 years ago.

Mr. Lorette served in the military along with four of his brothers serving at the same time. He served as a US Naval Seabee during WW II and attained the rank of Machinists Mate 3rd Class.

Soon after his discharge from the Navy he began work for George W. Moore in Waltham, then worked in the Security Department at Raytheon for 25 years.

He was a long time member of the American Legion. He shared a love of NASCAR with his predeceased son Wayne, with Jeff Gordon and Earnhardt being their particular favorites respectively. He loved spending time with family while enjoying a cup of coffee and donut or an ice cream, or offering “pinkies” to the grandkids. He also loved his classic country music, watching his birds, and was a lifetime baseball fan.

Mr. Lorette is survived by two sons, Raymond Lorette Jr. of Marlboro and Thomas Lorette and his wife Pauline of Tewksbury; six daughters, Lorna Hebert and her husband Ed of Stow, Mary Guggina and her husband John of Waltham, Karen Rines and her husband Scott of Adamstown, MD, Christine Reuter-Caporizzo and her husband John of Billerica, Janet Auger and her husband Peter of Nashua, NH and Susan Johnson and her husband Ken of Bedford, NH as well as 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Wayne Lorette and the last surviving of 12 siblings.

A private graveside service with military honors was held at the Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to at www.dav.org
