William T. O’Rourke Jr. passed peacefully after a period of declining health on March 4, 2025, at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Dipersio) O’Rourke, married 63 years.
He was born in Cambridge, December 22, 1939, a son of the late William T. Sr. and Mary H. (Shore) O’Rourke and grew up in Medford before moving to Billerica 63 years ago.
Bill was the owner and operator of Wilmington Exxon and was a former member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks. In previous years, he enjoyed working on his antique cars and attending car shows. Bill also enjoyed NASCAR shows. In his younger years he enjoyed raising horses.
Besides his wife he was a devoted father to three sons, William O’Rourke III and his wife Eileen of Tyngsboro, Stephan O’Rourke and his wife Diane of Tewksbury and Kevin O’Rourke and his wife Lisa of Pelham, NH. Known as “Bampy” he was also survived by his seven grandchildren, Courtney, Caitlin, Michaela, the late Molly, Jonathan, Brienne and Kevin Jr. as well as six great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Sophia, Peyton, Jonathan Jr., Conor, and Cameron.
