Obituary for William P. Flaherty
William P. Flaherty, age 79, husband of the late Lillian (Day) Flaherty died unexpectedly Thursday at their home.
He was born in Boston, August 9, 1932 a son of the late Patrick J. and Mary E. (Fenton) Flaherty and lived in Boston before moving to North Stonington, CT, 43 years ago.
Mr. Flaherty served in the US Army during the Korean War, was an Electrical Engineer at the Navy Labs in Groton, CT for many years and was also a member of the VFW.
He is survived by two daughters, Jean Fallon and her husband William of Billerica and Mary Markowitz and her husband Paul of Boise, ID; three brothers, John Flaherty of TN, Thomas Flaherty of MI and Robert Flaherty of GA; one sister Mary Flaherty of Quincy; five grandchildren, William, Michael and Paul Fallon, Dan Markowitz and Alison Radcliffe as well as seven great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Marguerite Flaherty.
FLAHERTY - Of North Stonington, CT, formerly of Boston, unexpectedly Jan. 6, William P. Flaherty, Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 3 - 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
