Obituary for William J. Petersen
BILLERICA – William J. Petersen, age 73, husband of Janice (Dykens) Petersen died Friday at Broward General Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale. He was born in Cambridge, May 3, 1938 a son of the late Russell and Mary (Coleman) Petersen and was raised in Burlington prior to moving to Billerica 44 years ago. Mr. Petersen worked for the International Union of Elevator Constructors from 1957 – 76, Domino Sugar from 1977-87 and more recently was an elevator inspector for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts prior to his retirement. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Joseph Petersen and his fiancé Cathy Martell of Lowell, Paul Petersen of Nashua and Richard Petersen and his wife Deena of Punta Gorda, FL; one brother, Russell Petersen and his wife Leona of Burlington; two sisters, Mary Lou Condon of Burlington and Linda Spreadbury of MO. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. PETERSEN – Of Billerica, formerly of Burlington, March 9, William J. Petersen. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 8 – 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
