Obituary for William J. Fitzgerald
William J. Fitzgerald - Age 84, beloved husband of Joan L. (Hansbury) Fitzgerald died Thursday at the Wilmington Health Care Center.
He was born in Arlington, October 17, 1926 the son of the late Frederick R. and Jessie M. (Harriman) Fitzgerald and lived in Arlington before moving to Billerica in 1955. Mr. Fitzgerald served in the Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Billerica Elks, the VFW Solomon Post and the DAV.
He was a member of the Billerica Police Department having worked for 30 years and retiring as a Lieutenant in 1982.
Besides his wife, Mr. Fitzgerald is survived by his daughters, Donna Goodwin of Barnstead, NH, Carol Jop and her husband Gary of Tewksbury, Pamela Sampson and her husband Joseph of Salisbury and Joanie Senna and her husband Kevin of Hudson, NH; and his grandchildren, Gary Jop and Kristine Senna. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Fitzgerald, Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Anne\'s Episcopal Church, Treble Cove Rd., N. Billerica at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
