Obituary for William E. Donaldson
William E. Donaldson, 98, formerly of Allentown, PA, died January 3 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Bedford, MA. He was the husband of the late Martha B. Donaldson. They were married for 62 years. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late William H. and Helen (Skupski) Donaldson. He was a revenue officer for the Internal Revenue Service and was a member of Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena for many years. He was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII, participating in 13 missions and was awarded the Air Medal in 1944.
Survivors: He is survived by a son, Lt. Colonel William P. Donaldson USAF (Ret), and his wife, Tracy of Chelmsford, MA; a daughter, Molly Brown and her husband, Jeff of Allentown, PA; four grandchildren: Craig and Steven Donaldson, Nicole Brendza (wife of Michael) and Stacy Brown; great-grandchildren: Chase, Cassidy and Wesley Brendza, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by siblings, Dorothy O’Connor, Ruth Johnson, Robert and Harold Donaldson.
Services: Services were private with internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in West Wyoming, PA.
