Obituary for William M. Fitzgerald Jr.
William M. Fitzgerald Jr., age 77, beloved husband of Barbara J. (Chetkas) Fitzgerald died Thursday at the E. N. Rogers Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford after a brief illness.
He was born in Somerville, August 5, 1940 a son of the late William M. Sr. and Lexina M. (MacGillvary) Fitzgerald and lived in Medford before moving to Billerica 48 years ago.
Mr. Fitzgerald served in the US Army during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of SSGT and was a Computer Operations Systems Analyst for Polaroid in Waltham for 25 years until his retirement in 1996. After retiring he was employed as a bus driver for CTI Headstart in Lowell.
Besides his wife he is survived by son, Kevin Fitzgerald of Natick; one daughter, Susan Rogers and her husband David Jr. of Billerica; one sister, Patricia Donovan of Bourne as well as two grandchildren, David Rogers III and Melissa Rogers. He was the brother of the late John Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald Jr. Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 - 7 p.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
