Obituary for William E. Foley
William E. Foley – Age 81, husband of the late Anne K. “Dede” (Murray) Foley died Saturday surrounded by his loving family.
Born on St. Patrick’s Day in Medford, March 17, 1939, the son of an Irish immigrant, the late Michael J. and Sarah F. (McLaughlin) Foley and lived in Medford and Woburn before moving to Billerica in 1972.
Bill was employed as an Engineer for Honeywell in Billerica for 29 years and later worked as the manager of a documentation group at Analogic Corporation in Peabody. After retirement Bill enjoyed staying busy and worked locally at O’Connor Hardware in Billerica for many years.
Bill was a former youth baseball and soccer coach in Billerica, was the past President of the Billerica Council on Aging and served as a Trustee for the Billerica Public Library for many years. Bill also participated in in a walking club at the Burlington Mall and volunteered extensively at several other Billerica organizations.
Bill is survived by his seven children, Richard Foley of Framingham; Steven Judge and his wife Kimberly of Rockland, ME; Marion (Foley) Meaney and her fiancé Keith Sullivan of Quincy; Michael Foley and his wife Kate of Billerica; W. Gregory Foley and his wife Amanda of Windham, NH; Christopher Foley and his wife Kellie of Hudson, NH; and Jeffrey Foley of Billerica; his brother-in-law Anthony Mauriello of Billerica, and is also survived by his greatest joy, his 17 grandchildren and his nieces.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10:00 a.m. Attendees must register at https://cli.re/ccb-funeral-signup and face masks are required.
