William A. Sullivan Jr.
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend
BILLERICA – William A. Sullivan Jr., age 89, beloved husband of Marilyn F. (Strom) Sullivan for 65 years, died Tuesday at Lowell General Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born in Boston, April 11, 1926 a son of the late William A. Sr. and Beatrice L. (Burk) Sullivan and lived in East Boston before moving to Billerica 78 years ago.
Mr. Sullivan served in the US Navy during WW II and was a Steamship Clerk for ILA Boston, Local #1066 for 40 years.
He was an active parishioner of St. Theresa Church in Billerica; a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Wren Council # 3963; the Holy Name Society and was involved with all aspects of the Billerica Friends of Music for many years.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children, William A. Sullivan III and his wife Sandy of Raynham, Claire MacKenzie and her husband Ronnie of Billerica, Martha Kuszek and her husband Robert of Brooklyn, NY, Suzanne Sullivan and her husband Peter Silverman of Barre and Timothy Sullivan and his wife Alison of Acton; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his siblings: Rene Bright, Kay Harkins, Bob Sullivan and Tom Sullivan all of Billerica, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dan, Dick, and Alan Sullivan and Joan Granfield.
SULLIVAN – Of Billerica, formerly of E. Boston, Jan. 12, William A. Sullivan Jr. Visiting hours will be held Friday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica, from 3 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday in St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 12 noon. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
