Obituary for Warren R. Davis
Warren Russell Davis passed away peacefully on September 27, 2018 after a short illness. He was born on July 22, 1923 in Arlington, MA to Ellen (Campbell) and Clarence Davis. As a child, he lived in Burlington, Massachusetts where he met his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Bamberg. They married on July 31, 1942 and spent almost 73 years together raising 10 children in North Billerica and then moving to Tenants Harbor, Maine, where he enjoyed 34 years retirement on the shores of the St. George River.

After graduating from Burlington High School, Warren served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Upon his return, he worked at General Electric in Lynn, MA as a Calibration Engineer for 34 years.

In 1957, he and Evelyn purchased a small piece of land on Otis Point in Tenants Harbor, ME, where they built a one room cabin. He toiled away over the years turning that one room cabin into a sprawling retirement home; “The Camp” was one of his greatest accomplishments. Often this work was done alongside his sons, which provided even more joy and pride in the process.

Warren was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him and love him. He loved golf and carpentry work. He tinkered in his workshop building doll beds and cabinets for his family and friends. He enjoyed antique cars, often visiting local car shows with his sons and grandsons. He even fixed up a 1948 Ford truck that he putted around town in. He enjoyed taking his family out on boat rides down the St. George River. Attending sporting events, concerts, and recitals for his many grandchildren were a favorite activity. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed rousing games of dominoes with his family. In his later years, he took up the art of caning chairs, which he gifted to family and friends.

Warren is survived by eight of his children and spouses: Nancy Wells and husband Donald of St. Albans, VT; Ralph Davis and wife Barbara of Tewksbury; Stanley Davis and wife Marcia of Woburn; Charles Davis and special friend Barbara Saxon of Kissimmee, FL, Nina McEwen and husband William of Stewartsville, NJ; Russell Davis and wife Marie of No. Billerica; Laura Wiley and husband Preston of Tenants Harbor, ME; and Stephen Davis of Waldoboro, ME. In addition, he is also survived by two daughters-in-law: Jane Davis of Tyngsboro and Nancy Davis of No. Billerica. He also leaves eighteen grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren with the twenty third and twenty fourth expected this fall. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn; sons Warren Davis of Tyngsboro and Gary Davis of No. Billerica; and his grandson, Matthew Davis of Woburn.

A very special thanks to the wonderful care given to him in the past two years by his youngest son, Stephen.
