Obituary for Walter "Bob" F. Daly Jr.

Walter “Bob” F. Daly Jr. – Age 82, husband of the late Patricia A. (DeSimone) Daly died peacefully Friday, February 18 in his sleep.

He was born in Cambridge, May 20, 1939, eldest son of the late Walter F. and Mary F. (Kelly) Daly and was raised in Waltham and moved to Billerica 53 years ago. He graduated from St Mary's school in Waltham in 1958. Bob proudly served in the National Guard.

He was employed as a Thin Film Technician having worked for many companies over the years including Baird Atomic, PTR Optics and Corning. Bob was a dedicated Scout leader for over 30 years, serving as a member of the Billerica Boy Scouts, Troop 30 and later as a leadership trainer in the Greater Lowell Council (Spirit of Adventure Council).

He is survived by his son, Walter Daly III (Catherine) of Australia and his daughter, the late Margarette-Anne “Meg” Rambo (Devin); his sisters, Marie Daly of Waltham, Dorothy Merrifield of GA and Patricia Daly of Woburn; his brother, the late John Daly and his grandchildren, Matthew, Lucy, Kean and Finn.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Hypoparathyroidism Association,
