Obituary for Walter J Delano
Walter J. Delano – Age 89, husband of the late Barbara A. (Cunningham) Delano died Saturday, Dec. 26 after a long illness.

He was born in Everett, February 15, 1931, a son of the late George and Helen (Mason) Delano and lived in Everett for many years before moving to Billerica in 1965. Walter proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He will be remembered for his love and dedication of many years to Billerica Pop Warner Bingo where he was a bingo worker and player. He loved to take trips to Foxwoods where he played bingo and the slots. He enjoyed his last days sharing his Oreo cookies with his great grandkids.

He was employed as a Truck Driver for many years having retired from Raytheon. He was a member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks and the VFW Solomon Post.

Walter is survived by his daughters, Cathy Giordano and her husband Tony of Billerica and Loreen Brahaney and her husband John of Nashua; his son, Walther Delano Jr. of Billerica; his sisters, Lorraine Cohen and her late husband William of Ohio, Patricia Garofano and her husband John of Malden and Delores Lunt and her husband Al of Billerica and is also survived by nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Walter’s burial will take place with his wife later this year at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
