Obituary for Vincent J. Catania
Vincent (Vinny) J. Catania, age 94, beloved husband of the late Marianne (Zaccardi) Catania and partner of the late Doris Cennamo, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at home in North Billerica, with his family by his side.
He was born in Boston, August 16, 1927 a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Ianelli) Catania and was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters, all of whom predeceased him.
Mr. Catania served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Philadelphia and during the Korean war aboard the USS Salem. Upon returning home he went on to work as an electro-mechanical designer.
Vinny loved to travel with his partner Doris. Together, they traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe. He and Doris also enjoyed attending ship reunions for the USS Philadelphia. He kept in touch with his ship mates and their families throughout the years. Vinny also enjoyed holidays and family get togethers.
He is survived by his children, Paul Catania of Billerica, Christine Marcotte and her husband Phil of North Chelmsford and Suzanne Kline and her partner Don Lacourse of Francestown, NH as well as his partner Doris's children, James, Gina and Annie Cennamo. He was also the proud grandfather of, Alexandra, Amanda, Christian, Joshua, Alex, Zachary and his great-grandson Myles, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 am, at Harbor of Hope Christian Church, 68 Princeton Street, North Chelmsford, MA.
