Obituary for Victor R. Centola
Victor R. Centola, Age 78, beloved husband of Joanne M. (Pinto) Centola died peacefully Thursday at the Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born in Boston, September 5, 1943, son of the late Pasquale and Jane (Suthons) Centola and was raised in the west end of Boston and lived in Somerville before moving to Billerica in 1990.
Victor was employed in the clothing industry for many years and worked at Breckenridge Sportswear in S. Boston prior to his retirement.
He was a loyal fan of the Red Sox who enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Christopher Centola and his wife Bethanne of Billerica; his daughter, Lisa Centola Bayless and her husband Michael also of Billerica; his brother, Thomas Centola of Charlestown; his sister, Marylou Currier of Saugus; his grandchildren, Julia, Stella and Domenic and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George and Peter Centola, Barbara Cannata, Elizabeth Griffin and Carol Centola.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Victor’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org
