Thomas Oommen, age 68, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Thomas) Oommen, passed away on Monday, April 27th, 2026 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on July 11th, 1957 in Kerala, India. Thomas Oommen (Aniyan) was the beloved son of late Thomas and Sosamma (Thomas) Varghese. Thomas Oommen migrated to America in 1985 with his eldest sister, Annamma Mathew’s sponsorship and went on to be a valued team member at American Science & Engineering for over 30 years and Mount Auburn Hospital for over 20 years. Throughout his life, Aniyan was known for his kindness, humor, generosity, and dedication. He found great joy in working, admiring cars, and cherished time spent with family and friends.
Aniyan is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Oommen, his children Anisha Ventura and her husband Paul and children Mason and Micah, Anitha Nutter and her husband Zachary, and his son, Ajith Oommen; his siblings Annamma Mathew and her husband Mathew Thomas, the late Rachel Mathai and her husband, the late V.M. Mathai, Thomas Varghese and his wife, Lisy Varghese, Thomas Philipose and his wife Lizy Philipose, Aleyamma Thomas and her husband Thomas Konnethu, and Susamma Kutty and her husband Daniel Kutty, along with all his nephews, nieces, and their children.
Viewing hours will be held on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica, MA from 4-8 PM. Additional viewing hours along with the funeral service will be held on Saturday morning at Mount Hope Christian Center, 3 McGinnis Drive, Burlington, MA beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Road, Billerica, MA.
Aniyan will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the joy and laughter he brought to his family and friends.
