Obituary for Thomas I Hickey Jr.
BILLERICA – Thomas I. Hickey Jr., age 67, died Wednesday April 1, at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was born in Somerville, October 19, 1947 a son of the late Thomas I. Sr. and Margaret (Loring) Hickey and lived in Charlestown before moving to Billerica 38 years ago. Mr. Hickey served in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he received the Purple Heart, was a Billerica Police Officer for 31 years and was a former Longshoreman and former member of the Charlestown Militia and Majestic Knights.. He is survived by four daughters, Kathleen E. Hickey, Mandi N. Hickey, Melissa A. Hickey and Michelle L. Hickey all of Billerica; three sons, Thomas I. Hickey III and Shawn P. Hickey both of Charlestown and Chad C. Hickey of Billerica; five sisters, Gloria O’Reilly of NC, Margaret Curry-Pinkes of Watertown, Stephanie Thompson of Charlestown, Laura Lee Hickey of Gloucester, ME and Michelle Long of FL; three brothers Robert Hickey and Paul Hickey both of Charlestown and Jeff Hickey of PA; ten grandchildren, Mikey, Marty, Matthew, Jonathan, Caden, Tyler, Patrick, Austin, Shaylee and Jacqueline; four great-grandchildren, Mikey, Marty, Adri, Julian and his Godson John. He was the former husband of Catherine Judge (Kane) and Pamela Brennan and was the father of the late Kelly Ann Hickey, grandfather of the late Katyln Hickey and brother of the late Henry Hickey. HICKEY – Of Billerica, formerly of Charlestown, April 1, Thomas I. Hickey Jr. Funeral Tuesday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the DAV, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301
