Obituary for Thomas M. Mullen
Thomas Matthew Mullen, 89, beloved husband of Catherine “Kay” J. (Benson) Mullen, died Sunday, February 5, at the Edith N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford following a brief illness.
He was born in Boston, May 28, 1927 to the late Thomas and Della (Concannon) Mullen and lived in Boston before moving to Billerica in 1958.
He attended Rochester Institute of Technology University with a bachelor's degree. In 1945, he joined the U.S. Army Infantry, where he served both in the United States and Germany.
Mr. Mullen had a passion for music, a wonderful sense of humor and love of family. He was an active communicant of St. Theresa Church and a member of the Billerica Knights of Columbus #3963. He was a former employee at E G & G and Honeywell.
Besides his wife of 65 years, he leaves his children, Thomas Mullen of Boston, John Mullen and his wife Charlene of Billerica, Stephen Mullen of Billerica, Mary Kaye Miln and her husband Peter of Pepperell, Robert Mullen of Groton; 7 grandchildren; Samantha Bartelson and her husband Jason, Stephen, Scott, and Sean Miln, Thomas, Julie and Dylan Mullen; 2 great-grandchildren, Graden Kyle and Ella Kaye Bartelson, many nieces and nephews as well as many close friends.
Mullen – Of Billerica, February 5, 2017. Thomas M. Mullen, A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 8 at St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Memorial contributions will be made to St. Theresa Church, One Grace Ave., Billerica, MA 01821. Burial will take place Thursday in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
