Susan P. (Parker) Norton, age 55, wife of Edward J. Norton died Monday at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness.
She was born in Somerville, MA, July 8, 1969 a daughter of the late Robert F. and Annmarie (Allosso) Parker and was a longtime Billerica resident before moving to Lowell 24 years ago.
Susan graduated from Billerica Memorial High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Salem State University and her Master’s Degree from Boston College then began a career as a licensed social worker focusing on adoption. She continued to work as a special education family advocate as well as a parent and educational consultant.
She was also the owner and creator of Wreaths by Susan, but most important to her was raising her two beloved sons.
Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Brandon Norton and his girlfriend Livkate Mejias and Nicholas Norton all of Lowell; two brothers, Scott Parker and his wife Catherine of Tyngsboro and Michael Parker and his fiancée Tricia Bizzarro of Billerica as well as her nieces and nephews and many treasured family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, March 9, from 1 – 4 p.m. at Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Funeral services will be Monday, March 10, from the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 11:30 a.m. Followed by a Graveside Service at the Lowell Cemetery, 71 Knapp Ave. Lowell at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Federation for Children with Special Needs. https://fcsn.org/donate/
