Obituary for Susan E. Helmer
BILLERICA – Susan E. (Mosher) Helmer, age 60, beloved wife of Leo Helmer died unexpectedly Sunday January 24,2021 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.
She was born in Medford, April 16, 1960, the daughter of the late Carl T. and Edwina M. (Lown) Mosher and lived briefly in Somerville before moving to Billerica where she grew up.
Susan took great pride in raising her five children and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and many friends. One of her greatest joys was spending her favorite summertime months with everyone she loved at her pool known as Helmer Oasis, Susan always welcomed all as if they were one of her own. Susan always introduced herself at “Mrs. Helmer” and will be known for her love and kindness and big heart of gold.
Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Shawna Sweeney and Megan Helmer and her fiancé Ryan Grogan all of Billerica; three sons, Ryan Helmer and his wife Stephanie, Nolan Helmer and George Helmer Jr. all of Billerica; three sisters, Nancy Velucci her husband Ray of Litchfield, NH and Joanne Raboin and Diane Mosher both of Billerica as well as her sister-in-law Dorry Mosher. Her two grandchildren, Maci and Harper. She was the sister of the late Stuart Mosher. She was the “favorite aunt” to many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
