Stephen J. Peregrim, 66, of Bedford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Advinia Care in Wilmington.
He was born on May 25, 1957, in Little Falls, NJ, the son of the late Theodore and Carmen (Dubois) Peregrim.
A true life long student, he held Master’s Degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Massachusetts Boston. He truly had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and would routinely be found at his computer researching new scientific breakthroughs. He was equally happy when learning or when teaching any subject to anyone interested. For his career, Stephen worked as a Physicist.
Stephen loved enjoying time with his family. He also liked movies of all genres, and while not a cook he enjoyed the “science of flavor” and sampling many types of foods. He was a hugger and could make anyone feel better just by embracing them. He was very religious and faithful and enjoyed studying scriptures. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and for the loyalty he had to those he cared about.
Stephen is survived by his fiancé of more than 25 years, Diane Gilpatrick of Wakefield, MA, and his brothers, Curtis Peregrim of Bedford, MA, and Theodore Peregrim and his wife Donna of Lexington, Ky, and a niece Michelle Peregrim as well as many friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his graveside service on Saturday July 22, at 11:00 AM at Shawsheen Cemetery, 15 Shawsheen Rd, Bedford, MA. All are also invited to attend his funeral service, followed by a luncheon, beginning at 12:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 70 Concord Rd, Billerica, MA.
