Obituary for Stephen A. Conopka Jr.
Stephen A. Conopka Jr., Age 78, beloved husband of Sheila M. (Kelly) Conopka died Tuesday at their home with his family at his side.
He was born in Norwood, January 20, 1943, a son of the late Stephen A. Conopka and Anna (Croak) Conopka and lived in Billerica for over 30 years before moving to Bradenton, FL and then Hudson, NH. Stephen proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Stephen was employed for over 30 years at the New England Life Insurance having retired as the Vice President of Computer Operations and later worked at the O’Connor Hardware Store in Billerica.
Besides his wife, Stephen is survived by his son, Christopher Conopka of Lowell; his brother, William Conopka and his wife Peggy of Stoughton and his sisters, Cathy Flynn and her husband Paul of Stoughton and Eileen Hannon and her husband Tom of Norwood.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 2-5 p.m. Masks will be required. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
