Obituary for Stanley P. Karey
BILLERICA – Stanley P. Karey, age 96, beloved husband of Rita (English) Karey died peacefully Saturday at their home.
He was born in Boston a son of the late John and Sophie (Harhut) Zakrzewski and has been a longtime Billerica resident.
Mr. Karey served in the US Marine Corps attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He later worked for Sylvania and more recently as a butcher for Star Market.
Besides his wife he is survived by his Stepson Guy Griffey and his wife, Barbara of Nashua, NH, daughter- in-law Marilyn Griffey of Bradford, MA, three daughters, Christine Colangelo of Buckeye, AZ, Lori Karey-Lacroix and her husband Albert of Casa Grande, AZ, Debra Cartwright of Casa Grande, AZ, his grandchildren, Anthony Griffey of Nashua, NH, Michael Griffey and his fiancé LeeAnn of Nashua, NH, Robert Griffey of Atlanta, GA, Jonathan Griffey of Atlanta, GA, Valerie Colangelo Bosch and her husband Lino of Buckeye, AZ, Nicholas Colangelo of San Francisco, CA, Ernest Carruthers and his wife Christine of Franklin, MA, Rachael Miles and her husband Robert of Bath, NH, Joseph Carruthers and his wife Andrea of Maynard, MA, Emily Garrand and her husband Bert of Attleboro Falls, MA as well as 13 great-grandchildren. Stanley's life was full of love, excitement, travel, and adventure.
He was extremely proud to have fought for his country during World War II as a Marine. He has now joined his many brothers in arms.

Stanley was predeceased by stepson Glen Griffey and son-in-law Angelo Colangelo.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd. Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. It being his wish there will be no visiting hours. Burial will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA at 2:15 p.m.
