Obituary for Sheila A. Timmons

Sheila A. Timmons – Age 78, wife of the late Frederick W. Timmons and loving companion of the late Arthur Davey, died peacefully Tuesday, February 28 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Cambridge, June 16, 1944, a daughter of the late Donald and Honorine (Boudreau) Doyle. She was raised in Cambridge before moving to Arlington and then Billerica in 1970.

Prior to her retirement, Sheila was employed as a Product Manager for the Pioneer Company in Bedford, MA.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Timmons and her husband Michael Hewitt of Billerica; her son, Erik Timmons and his wife Kathy of Wilmington; her sister, Evelyn Ferrandini of Redlands, CA; her grandchildren, Heather, Nikole, Jake, Dylan and Zack and her great granddaughter, Charleigh. She was the mother of the late Kym Timmons. Loved and cherished by several nieces, nephews, and close family friends.

Sheila was the youngest girl of 9 siblings and as tough as they come. Often heard saying “mini but mighty”. Once moving to the “country” Billerica, she would be found in her yard gardening and appreciating all nature had to offer. Everything in her beautiful garden had a story and she lit up each time she could share them with someone. She had countless bird feeders, knowing exactly what type of bird was visiting at any given time, as well as front porch frequented by all types of creatures. Her front porch became known as Nana’s nature land. She joked it was her Nature TV as she watched them for hours through her bow window.

Her heart was always welcoming and her door was always open for anyone who needed it. She was known to be the first in line to help anyone in need. For years her and her sister Dottie would deliver meals, take their friends to their weekly hair appointments before lunch, and of course share a coffee at Dunkin’s with the coffee crew. Her and Dot were a pair like no other.

She adored her three children, always going above and beyond to make sure they had what they needed, such as rides to hockey or horseback riding lessons just to name a few. Taking on whatever job necessary to be there for them.

Her and Art enjoyed the antique car circuit, known for their 66 GTO, winning numerous trophies throughout New England.

To say the she was the best Nana in the world would be an understatement. She was an absolute fixture at all of Heather’s events, known by all as “Nana T”. Always sharing her knowledge of nature while taking you on an adventure through the woods. Jake, Dylan, and Zack fondly referred to her as “Donut Nana” as she always had treats for them. They knew she was their biggest fan on and off the field. Nikole and her daughter Charleigh had Sheila smiling and making funny faces right until the end.

Sheila was loved by all and will be dearly missed by everyone who was blessed to have known her.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 4 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 12-3pm Memorial contributions may be made in Sheila’s name to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm Animal shelter in Methuen, MA.
