Obituary for Shawn Gerard Doherty
Shawn Gerard Doherty, age 51, passed away suddenly in Wilmot, NH on Tuesday, September 1, 2014. Shawn was born November 8, 1962 in Woburn, MA, to Philip A Doherty, Jr. and Marie B. Doherty. He attended and graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1980. On October 12, 1991, Shawn married Janet Moore of Upton, MA. He grew up in Billerica, MA and lived most recently in Upton, MA. He had a long career at Eastman Kodak Company as a well respected Field Engineer. Shawn will always be remembered for his ability to “fix anything and everything”, as well as, his love for Halloween and amazing skills for making “peanut brittle”. Survivors include his wife, Janet and his son, Shawn Avery. He also leaves behind his mother, Marie; brother Philip and his wife Elizabeth of Maple Plain, MN; brother Thomas and his wife Donna of Flushing, NY; brother Kevin and his wife Amy of Leesburg, VA; sister Erin and her husband Jimmy of Ballwin, MO; and sister AnnMarie and her husband Ed of Belmont, NH. He will always be remembered as “QT” by his many nieces and nephews including, Jessica, Danielle, Dylan, MaryKate, Cory, Jilliann, Ryan, Christina, Michelle, Amanda and Eddie. Shawn was predeceased by his sister, Lisa and father, Philip. Calling hours will be held from 5 – 7 PM on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton MA. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 1 Maple Street, Upton MA following the services. There will be a second service with calling hours from 12-2 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Road, Billerica MA with a small service at the end of the calling hours. Friends and family are invited to gather at Jon Ryan’s Pub, 56 Chelmsford Rd., Billerica MA from 2-4 PM.
