Sharyn E. Flaherty – age 80, wife of the late Joseph C. Flaherty died unexpectedly Friday, August 1 at her home.
She was born in Woburn, August 29, 1944, a daughter of the late Samuel and Caroline (McElheney) Joyce and was raised in Woburn. She later lived in Connecticut, Hawaii and Woburn before moving to Billerica in 1997.
Before her retirement, Sharyn worked for Modern Continental.
She is survived by her sons, Mark and Chris Flaherty of Billerica; her brothers, Alan Joyce of Woburn and Kevin Joyce of Billerica; her sister, Karen Dagata of Woburn and her granddaughter, Jovanna Flaherty. She was the mother of the late Lynn Flaherty.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 6 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 11-12:15 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, 686 Washington St., Winchester at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Sharyn’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org
