Obituary for Salvatore J. Gibelli
Salvatore J. “Sal” Gibelli, age 96, husband of June H. (Newhouse) Gibelli and the late Rita (DeStafano) Gibelli, died Sunday at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus. He was born in Boston, Nov. 15, 1916, a son of the late Giuseppe and Vincenza (Aigro) Gibelli and lived in the North End prior to moving to Billerica in 1955. Mr. Gibelli was the body shop Manager at Wilmington Ford for over 40 years, enjoyed gardening but was happiest spending time with his family. Besides his wife he is survived by six daughters, Virginia Johnson of Salem, ME, Patricia Caterino of Billerica, Janice Stimpson of Merrimack, NH, Sandra Kenney of FT. Meyers, FL, Maureen Brown of Concord, NH and Theresa Gibelli of Boynton, Beach, FL; two sisters, Constance Bono of Somerville and Josephine Chiampa of Medford. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. GIBELLI – Of Billerica, formerly of the North End, May 26, Salvatore J. Gibelli. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday at the First Congregational Church of Billerica, 18 Andover Rd., Billerica at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
