Salvatore A. Gualtieri – age 86, beloved husband of Patricia M. (MacDonald) Gualtieri died peacefully Wednesday at the Lowell General Hospital.
He was born in Batavia, NY, June 13, 1939, a son of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Zinni) Gualtieri and was raised in New York and later lived in Cambridge before moving to Billerica in 1970.
Sal was employed as a Pharmacist for the former Youville Hospital in Cambridge for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Billerica Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy.
Besides his wife, Sal is survived by his children, Mark Gualtieri and his wife Christine and Deanna Gualtieri of Barre; his brothers, Albert Gualtieri of RI, Carmen Gualtieri of NV, Nicholas Gualtieri of NC, Paul Gualtieri of MI and Elizabeth Gualtieri of NY. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexander and Gabriella Gualtieri.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 20 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. His burial will take place at the Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica.
