In Loving Memory of Rosemarie (Sortino) Howard
May 25, 1948 – July 27, 2025
With deep sorrow and enduring love, we announce the passing of Rosemarie (Sortino) Howard on July 27, 2025, at the age of 77. Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Rosemarie passed away peacefully at The Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Rosemarie’s energetic personality filled the lives of all who knew her.
She was the beloved mother to her son George Schwamb and his wife Lorie, and her daughters Debby Howard, and Susan Bica. Her heart knew no bounds when it came to her grandchildren, especially Kristen Schwamb, whom Rosemarie lovingly helped raise. Randy Howard, Alyssa Bica, Isabella Perry, Gabrial Perry, Kristie Kelly, and Paul Kelly Jr. were also grandkids that she cherished. She was a proud Godmother to Michael Harrison and found great joy hearing stories about her great-grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriel Perry.
Rosemarie shared a deep and loving bond with her sister Carol Harrison and her husband Paul, whose visits—always thoughtful, were filled with favorite treats and tokens of love—that meant the world to her. She was a cherished sister to Chuckie Sortino and his wife Janice, who remember her fondly from their younger childhood days. She was predeceased by her dear brother Dominic Sortino, her beloved niece Kelly Harrison, and her granddaughter Beth Perry—each forever etched in her heart.
Rosemarie’s warmth, sense of humor and tenacity left an indelible mark on her family and all who were lucky enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave and the stories we carry forward in her honor.
It is with great sincerity that we thank The Elliot hospital in Manchester, NH and The Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH for the love and dignity given to Rosey in her last days.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Crossway Christian Church, 33 Pine Street, Nashua, NH, Wednesday, August 6, at 10:00AM. Followed by a Graveside Service at the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, 52 Bedford St., Burlington, MA at 12:00PM
