Obituary for Rose Scanzillo
Billerica – Rose Scanzillo – Age 100, wife of the late Frank P. Scanzillo died Monday at the Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born in Boston, August 24, 1915, a daughter of the late Marsileo and Philomena (Derocco) Beatrice and was raised in E. Boston before moving to Roxbury. Mrs. Scanzillo would summer in Billerica and later moved to town in 1967.
She was employed at the former S.S. Pierce Company and later worked in the Dietary Department at the Bedford V.A. Hospital prior to her retirement.
She was a volunteer at the Billerica Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cribbage, bingo and cards. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and also enjoyed going to Foxwoods and Plainridge Park Casino.
Mrs. Scanzillo is survived by her daughters, RoseAnn Macomber and her husband Paul of Hampton, NH and Elaine Mucci and her husband Joseph of Billerica; her son, Frank Scanzillo Jr. and his wife Jennifer of New Bedford. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
SCANZILLO – Of Billerica, July 4, Rose (Beatrice) Scanzillo, Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 3-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Agape of El Salvador, c/o George Mucci, 104 Newman St., Revere, MA 02151.
