Obituary for Rose A. Doherty
Rose A. Doherty – Age 91, wife of the late William Doherty died Monday at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in N. Billerica. She was born in Newton, June 21, 1920, the daughter of the late Eugene and Gertrude (Murphy) Murphy and lived in Newton before moving to Billerica in 1949. Mrs. Doherty was a communicant of St. Theresa Church in Billerica and a former member of the Sodality. She was employed as a Secretary at the Billerica Memorial High School for 20 years prior to her retirement. The family would like to thank the staff of the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley for the love and care that they showed Mrs. Doherty during her stay there. Mrs. Doherty is survived by her daughter, Jean Marie Roach of Billerica; her sons, Robert Doherty of Billerica and Paul Doherty and his wife Maureen of Lowell; her grandchildren, Beth Stanley, Thomas Roach Jr., Sean Roach, Patrick Roach and Kathlyn McGinnis and her great grandchildren, Connor Roach, Megan Stanley and Delaney Riordan. DOHERTY – Of Billerica, April 9, Rose A. (Murphy) Doherty, Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 3-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Doherty’s name to the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley Activities Fund, 80 Boston Rd., Billerica, MA 01862. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
