Obituary for Ronald E. D'India
Ronald E. D’India, age 78, beloved husband of Barbara J. Cochran, died Friday, April 8 at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington. He was born in Boston, November 6, 1943, son of the late Albert E. and Margaret F. (Nunes) D’India and was raised in E. Boston and moved to Billerica over 40 years ago.
Ron was employed as a mechanic for Brite Excavating Company in Ayer and prior to that worked for Taylor & Lloyd, Inc. in Bedford. He was a welcome sight in anyone’s garage where his skill and expertise were always appreciated.
Besides his wife, Ron is survived by his daughters, Yvette D’India, Michelle D’India and Megan Alexander all of Billerica; his grandchildren, Ashley Bucci of Lowell and Faith and Saffi Alexander of Tewksbury; his great grandson, Jaxson Sordiff of Lowell; his nephews, Stuart and Eric D’India of FL. He was the brother of the late Albert D’India. Ron also leaves his faithful dog Axle, his cherished 56 Panhead, his “Brothers for Life” (you know who you are) and his many cousins and lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 24 at the Billerica Lodge of Elks, Webb Brook Rd., Billerica from 12-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, in memory of ‘Preacher Dee,’ P.O.
