Obituary for Rolande S. Metivier
BILLERICA - Rolande S. (Boulet) Metivier died at Beth Israel Hospital on Sunday, November 29, 2009, following a courageous fight to overcome complications after surgery. She turned 74 on October 26th. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by the family she loved so much and who love her in return.
Born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, the daughter of the late Alexandre and Asmen (Bernatche) Boulet. Rolande was the 14th of 15 children. Having lost her dad and many of her siblings at an early age, she had a strong sense of family that she instilled in her own family. Rolande's greatest loves are her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to each and every one of them. Family gatherings and holiday celebrations always included some of her home-cooked specialties.

Rolande is survived by her husband of 53 years, Norman, her daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Edward C. Payne III, Lisa and Gregory Ortolani, Lynne and Robert Hawkes Sr.; her son and his wife, Jon and Tracy Metivier; nine grandchildren, Renee Payne O'Brien and her husband Daniel, Robert Hawkes Jr. and his wife Kelly, Keith Hawkes and his fianc Cynthia Brabant, Nicholas Ortolani, Jon Michael Hawkes, Alexander Ortolani, Marc, Nicole, and Jacob Metivier; three great-grandchildren, Aidan and Owen O'Brien and Charles Hawkes, one sister Jeanne D'Arc Fontaine and a brother Raymond Boulet; as well as many nieces and nephews.
