Obituary for Roger Francis Peck
Roger F. Peck, age 78, beloved husband of Marcia J. (Murphy) Peck entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022.
He was born in Somerville, August 26, 1943, a son of the late Kenneth and Joyce (Daggett) Peck and lived in Arlington and Waltham before moving to Billerica in 1968.
Prior to his retirement Roger was a technical trainer for the Polaroid Corporation for 35 years and was part of New Colony Baptist Church in Billerica.
Faith was a driving force in his life. As a Christian, he lived it. Roger spent his life devoted to family, most of all to his beloved wife, He was an amazing father - friend, mentor, and role-model to his sons, Allen and Roger.
Roger and Marcia loved to travel, especially to Pemaquid, Maine, to the Caribbean, and to Europe. Their grandson Bailey Peck often joined them on their trips He was also an avid sport’s fan; primarily football. Roger really enjoyed good food, both at restaurants and at home cooking with his wife, Marcia.
Throughout his life, children were his delight. The neighborhood children called him “Mr. Rogers”and visited often to entertain him. Roger always tracked the weather and spent much time researching the data each week. To his delight, he found a kindred-spirit in one of the neighbor’s children, Marc LaFauci who compared weather data with him.
Roger lived a full and blessed life, despite his many physical challenges and suffering at the end. We surrender him to our God and Savior Jesus Christ.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Allen Peck and his wife Lisa of Hudson, NH and Roger Peck Jr. and his wife Dr. Christine MacGinnis of Douglas, MA: seven grandchildren, Bailey Peck, Dominik Lupo, Vincent Horstkotte, Olivia Horstkotte, Benjamin Peck, Conor MacGinnis and Ian MacGinnis as well as his brother Kenneth H. Peck. He was the brother of the late John Peck.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, January 14th at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the New Colony Baptist Church, 30 River St. Billerica, MA at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Colony Baptist Church.
