Robert W. Morris, age 70, died Thursday, Nov 8, unexpectedly at his home.
He was born in Lowell, July 22, 1954 a son of the late Raymond D. Sr. and Eleanor T. (Collins) Morris and was a lifetime Billerica resident having moved to Fitchburg two years ago.
Bob, also known by many as BMO, has been enjoying retirement from his long time career on the railroad, where he worked as a track engineer. He would reminisce often on the laughable memories made with coworkers over the years.
In his spare time he enjoyed going to the beach, watching his New England Patriots or Redsox, and embracing his passion of chocolates and desserts. But most important to him was being a “full time Pops”.
He is survived by one daughter, Kelly Scott and her husband Jacob of Fitchburg; three sons, Joseph Morris of Portland, ME, Stephen Milligan of Walpole and Richard Milligan of Ogunquit, ME; one sister, Ellen Ortolani of Billerica; six brothers, Daniel Morris of Billerica, Stephen Morris of Billerica, John “Jack” Morris of Billerica, Paul Morris of Chelmsford, Michael Morris of Billerica and Richard Morris of Billerica as well as his two beloved granddaughters, Molly Mae and Ruby Belle, his former wife Cheryl (Crandall) Morris and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edward, Raymond Jr. and William Morris.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, Nov. 11 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew Church, 45 Talbot Ave. Billerica at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
