Obituary for Robert P. (Mickey) Kennedy
Robert P. Kennedy (Mickey) age 71, beloved husband of Jane M. (Dempsey) Kennedy died peacefully at home Thursday, February 5, 2015 surrounded by the love of his family after a long and valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Boston, May 9, 1943 a son of the late William and Regina (Kelly) Kennedy and was a lifelong Billerica resident. Mick worked as a sign erector and Business Agent for Local 391. Upon his retirement in 1999, he was the Vice President for Vintage Properties, Inc. He coached Billerica Little League for many years, and was a Life Member of the Billerica Lodge of Elks #2071. He believed that his greatest achievement was the life he built with his cherished wife of 50 years and their children, Heidi J. K. Barsamian and her husband Peter of Weston, Michael P. Kennedy and his wife Jennifer of Westford, Tricia K. Misage and her husband Scott of Natick, and Katie J. Kennedy of Lexington. Papa Mick dearly loved his six grandchildren Riley Jane, Maxwell Kennedy, Sydney Gerarda, Michael Patrick, Brigid Kennedy, and Anya Jane. Loving brother to Joan Windham of Billerica, Janet Williams of Wilmington, William Kennedy of Arlington, and the late Regina Tomyl. Uncle Mickey will be remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews. Mick was an avid golfer. He looked forward to spending his winters in Florida, and perfecting his golf game. He also enjoyed bowling with his twin sisters. In the summer, he loved spending time at Plum Island and working in his garden. Even though he was considered one of the “Outlaws” in the Dempsey family, he was dearly loved as one of their own. Mick will always be known for lending a hand, his integrity, and for his strike-ing blue eyes. KENNEDY- Of Billerica, Feb 5. Robert P. Kennedy. A Celebration of Life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Robert “Mickey” Kennedy to the Massachusetts General Hospital, The Howard Ulfelder, MD Healing Garden, 100 Cambridge Street, Suite 1300, Boston, MA 02114, or https://secure.massgeneral.org
