Obituary for Robert M. Aherne
Robert M. Aherne – Age 69, loving husband of Joanne (Lynch) Aherne died peacefully Sunday at their home surrounded by his family. He was born in Newton, March 21, 1945, son of the late Raymond J. and Mary L. (Milmore) Aherne and lived in Newton for many years and moved to Tewksbury in 1978. Mr. Aherne was employed as an Information Technology Manager for Dell Systems in Wellesley. He enjoyed rides to the ocean, his Boston sports teams and was an avid golfer and a former member of the Atkinson Country Club. Besides his wife, Mr. Aherne is survived by his son, Kevin Aherne of Chelsea; his daughters, Kerri Aherne and Lauren Aherne of Tewksbury; his brother, Richard Aherne and his wife Anita of Scituate; his sister, Maureen Loukas and her husband Victor of Belmont and many nieces and nephews. His dedication and passion towards his family and work will always be remembered. AHERNE – Of Tewksbury, May 18, Robert M. Aherne, Funeral Friday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd. Billerica at 8:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Tewksbury at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. Burial in Newton Cemetery.
