Obituary for Robert J. Flood
SEBRING, FL - Robert J. “Bob” Flood of Sebring, formerly of Bow Lake, Strafford, NH and Billerica, the beloved husband of Gladys “Penny” Flood died peacefully on March 22, 2013 at the age of 85 after a lengthy illness. Bob was a US Army Veteran of World War II, a mechanic by trade, and prior to his retirement, was the proud owner/operator of Bob’s Exxon, Stoneham, MA where he mentored his three sons. Bob was a wonderfully skilled woodworker throughout his life, most would say he truly was a “Jack of all Trades” and was someone who was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. Besides his wife he was the loving father of Thomas and his wife Diane of Strafford, NH, E. Ann Doherty and her husband John of Billerica, Noreen Bullock and her husband Thomas of Wilmington, NC, Robert R. and his wife Nancy of Derry, NH, and Paul and his wife Deborah of Londonderry, NH. He was also the loving grandfather of Douglas, Michele, Melissa, Kimberly, Geoffrey, Kate, Mallory, Cristi, Daniel, Spenser and Meghan, and great grandfather of Jenna, Malarie, Thomas, Jason, Averie, Nathan, Jack and Gwendolyn. He was also survived by his sister, Hazel Taylor of Vermont and his aunt, Martha Petrone of Florida. FLOOD – Of Sebring, FL, formerly of Bow Lake, Strafford, NH and Billerica, Mar. 22. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday in the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
