Obituary for Robert E. Hentz
Robert E. Hentz - Age 73, loving husband of Mary J. (Scharn) Hentz died Tuesday at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica.
He was born in Boston, April 29, 1936, the son of the late Clifford E. and Viola S. (Strang) Hentz and lived in Billerica for most of his life and enjoyed their second home in Damariscotta Mills, Maine.
Mr. Hentz started his 39 year employment for the Bedford School Department as a Teacher and then was appointed to Principal and had retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools in 1997. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Billerica having served as the former church moderator. He was a former Town Meeting Member and Chairman of the Finance Committee.
Besides his wife, Mr. Hentz is survived by his sons, Robert Hentz Jr. and his companion Mary DaSilva, William Hentz and his wife Michelle and Steven Hentz and his wife Jean all of Billerica; his twin sister, Leila Jenkins of Dracut and is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Mr. Hentz is the brother of the late David, Richard and Ann Hentz.
HENTZ - Of Billerica, Dec. 1, Robert E. Hentz husband of Mary J. (Scharn) Hentz. Visiting hours will be held Friday at the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 3-7 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 18 Andover Rd., Billerica, MA 01821.
