Obituary for Robert E. Faria
Robert E. Faria - Age 79, beloved husband of Mary R. (Sherwood) Faria died Friday at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
He was born in Cambridge, May 29, 1932, the son of the late John J. Faria Sr. and Olive (Sheehan) Faria and was raised in Billerica and then moved to Somerville for six years before returning to Billerica. Mr. Faria served in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was employed as a Sheet Metal Worker for Local #17 before his retirement. He was a member of the Nabnassett American Legion and the DAV.
Besides his wife, Mr. Faria is survived by his sons, Robert Faria Jr. and his fiance Lori Shadallah of ME and Dennis Faria of Billerica; his daughters, June DiGiovanni of Billerica, Barbarajo Joyce and her husband Edmund of Tyngsboro, Sheryl Germain and her husband Ronald of Raymond, NH and Stacy Mountain and her husband Wayne of KY; his brothers, Joseph and Adrian Faria of Billerica and Charles, Edward and Francis Faria of FL; his sisters, Mary MacMullin and Theresa Johanson of Billerica; his grandchildren, Robert Faria III, Barbara Faria, James Faria, Amanda Ganley, Jason Faria, Edward DiGiovanni, Jill Glencross, Melissa, Angela and Lindsey Joyce, Brittany Germain, Briana Froemming and Chelsea Mountain. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Faria was the brother of the late John J. Faria Jr. and Olive Smith and grandfather of the late Richard Germain.
FARIA - Of Billerica, July 8, Robert E. Faria, Funeral Monday from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 10 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, E. Chelmsford.
