Obituary for Robert M. Gill
Robert M. Gill – he was 82 years young and he died peacefully Saturday at his home. He lived a long, fulfilling life with family and friends always around him.

He was born and raised in Billerica where he made lifelong friends who he worked and had fun with his whole life. He was the son of the late Robert M. Gill Sr. and Marguerite E. (Tierney) Gill from 38 Pinedale Ave. Bob was the Salutatorian of his class of 1956 Billerica Memorial High School and was a graduate of Northeastern University where he played basketball while attaining his degree in Civil Engineering. He was so proud of the fact that two of his grandchildren were also Northeastern Alums.

Bob started as a young crew chief for Perkins Engineering before Mike Demoulas prompted him to form Robert M. Gill and Associates in Lowell where he proudly served thousands of clients for the next 60 years. He was respected and sought after for his integrity, honesty, and dedication to his profession and his clients. Bob was immensely proud of all the jobs he has done over the years, especially all the Demoulas and Market Basket sites and the clients that he met and loved. You couldn’t drive down any street in this area without him pointing out a job he had done. He was always on the go and had tremendous drive, energy and work ethic. He loved sports. He was an avid tennis player, golfer, basketball player and weight lifter his whole life, he also loved snow skiing, scuba diving, and water skiing on Lake Winnipesaukee. He was a member of Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover and Kelly Greens in Ft. Meyers, Florida. Bob was happiest spending time with his family especially his beloved grandchildren who he was immensely proud of Brianna, Danny, Christopher and Patrick.

Bob was the husband of the late Jeanette (Arena) Gill, her daughters and their grandchildren.

He was a loving, dedicated father to Maureen Gill-Looney and Dan Looney of Billerica and Laurie Gill and Jason Stretcher of Allen, Texas; he is survived by his sister, Mary Boermeester of Billerica and his former wife Carol J. (Grattan) Gill of Billerica. Bob had so many friends that he loved and adored and they treasured his friendship as well.
